OTKids — Paediatric Occupational Therapy Based in Berkshire

Who am I?

Charlotte, founder of OTKids

Meet Charlotte

I'm Charlotte and I founded OTKids back in 2016 — which means we've now been running for 10 years! First and foremost, I'm a mum. I live with my partner and together we have three children, two of whom are neurodiverse. I have been down the EHCP and diagnosis routes with both of them, so I truly understand the frustrations, the battles, and the emotional rollercoaster that parents go through — because I've lived it too. They are my biggest joy and my biggest headache every single day, and honestly, they are the reason I do what I do. Add two dogs into the mix and life is never quiet! If you're local you'll probably spot me out and about in full mum mode, coffee in hand. Please do stop and say hi.

My journey into OT started at 15 when I volunteered at a special needs play scheme — little did I know those few weeks would shape my entire career. I went on to study Occupational Therapy at Canterbury Christ Church University, graduating in 2006. I have specialised in Paediatrics since 2008, working through the NHS from a junior band 5 therapist all the way to a band 8a, managing the OT team within the Richmond Upon Thames area. Over the years I have completed many specialist courses, gaining knowledge in NDT and Sensory Integration, as well as specialist seating and splinting. In 2020 we headed down the M3 to Berkshire, where OTKids has been based ever since.

Meet Char

Admin & Chief Diary Juggler

Hi, I'm Char — Admin, Chief Diary Juggler and the keeper of Charlotte's calendar! I've been part of OTKids since 2023, helping to keep Charlotte busy, her diary organised and everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

As a mum of two, I have a real passion for supporting other families and know that sometimes a friendly voice and a helping hand can make all the difference — especially when you're at the start of your SEN journey. I feel so lucky to work alongside Charlotte. She has shown me just how life-changing OT can be for children and has inspired a genuine interest in child development, which I hope to follow in the future.

Hope to speak to you soon!
